Ten Thousand Villages Fundraiser for cafe on 1/23/11

Please support Ten Thousand Villages at its Highland Park, NJ location in this very generous offer to support A Better World Cafe. We love shopping at their store for beautifully handcrafted items that we can be sure were made by people being fairly compensated all over the globe. The fair trade chocolates they sell may be the perfect sweet treat for your valentine this year.

At the fundraiser event for A Better World Cafe on 1/23/11, you'll be able to sample delicious soups, cornbread, salsa spices and cookies made from mixes put together by Women's Bean Project. Based in Denver, Colorado, this nonprofit group has been helping women break the cycle of poverty and unemployment by providing stepping stones to self-sufficiency through social enterprise since 1989. The women in the program, have histories of poverty and unemployment. They are trained to make gourmet food products which are sold nationwide in shops like Ten Thousand Villages. This training provides the women with income and job experience. Each package for sale is labeled with the name of the woman who personally packed it.

Any Women's Bean Project soup, cornbread or baked good mix sales during the fundraiser event will result in a 15% donation to A Better World Cafe.

We couldn't be more thrilled to have this partnership.

Join our coffee club

We're very proud of our beverages here at the cafe. We only serve fair trade and organic coffee and teas.

Our Better World coffee is custom blended for us exclusively by OQ Coffee, artisan coffee roastebased in New Brunswick. We also serve decaf and seasonal varietal coffees by OQ Coffee.

They carefully select our beans, roast them and deliver them the next day. You can't beat that for freshness.

The milk we serve with our beverages is always organic and RGBH free.

Come in and pick up a coffee club punch card. Supplies are limited.

Buy 10 coffees or teas in the cafe and you'll receive the 11th for free.

Please present your club card to the cashier for a punch at the time you purchase your beverages.

We hope to see your mug coming in soon to sample one of our mugs.

On Thursday, Dec 30th we had a fantastic lunch concert performance by the Lords of Liechtenstein. At the end of their set, they pulled our December winner after a dramatic ukelele roll.
